Anyone near the fires? Anyone have to evacuate, although if you did you may not have Internet access. Hope no one lost their home, the situation looks really bad and may only get worse.

It's horrible to think that mass-spread homelessness can just suddenly take place like that in such a way, even floods and earthquakes don't destroy everything like a fire does...

I started a new job yesterday at Santa Clara County, and I meet a guy who moved to San Jose for one day for training. He was going to go back today and bring his belongings. But on the very same day, he got a phone call during training by his brother. Their house completely burnt to the ground. I swear to god, he nearly fainted but still... he stayed and kept training, even when the boss told him he could have the day off. (And do what? Be homeless????)
My sympathy is with Southern California. I have family down there, but thankfully none of them have faced tragedy. But who knows because FBI says this is the work of a few arsonists. One of which was killed.
I hope that guy, Sydney, will find a home quick. I actually tried to call him to tell him he could crash over at my house for a few weeks, but he doesn't answer his cell phone.

Ya, it's sad when huge fires take homes :( and i heard that someones castle-like home got burned down... Sad, they showed a video of the last party there, and all the artwork and such... all gone :( at least no lives reported lost throughout the blaze so far :D
