Switch is on the back. It's a clicky switch with a rubber boot over it to keep it water proof.
I've never been a flashlight enthusiast, but damn that thing is sweet looking. Do they actually get sales, you know with the $495 price tag and all?
I'm sure they've sold some. I don't know how many, but I guess enough to make it worth their whle. There are some flashlight collectors out there with plenty of disposable income. Wish I was one of them. :P

I don't get it wade, it doesn't have much use other than to illuminate darkness, which has the same capability as a plain LED flashlight. I perfer the flashlight that has a combo LED and UV flashlight for a little over $30.

But it looks uncomfortable to hold, usually flashlights have grips, this looks like it doesn't. I'd be afraid I'd get my fingers stuck inbetween those bars.
It's probably a lot smaller than you think. Check out the pictures of the lumencraft website, there is one with the light in someone's hand. It's actually fairly comfortable to hold. This flashlight is a combination of function and art. While it's appearance looks more like art than fucntion it still packs some pretty high end features as far as brightness control, the emitter used, the circuitry that regulates the output, etc.

The idea of collectible flashlights never actually crossed my mind, but that's one fine looking flashlight.
I think I'm gonna go look up custom flashlights now.

Easy to see where the name comes from; it looks more like a gattling gun than a flashlight. But are you actually going to use it for stuff? I mean, is this the flashlight you're going to go camping with, or fix leaks under the sink with? Or is it just something you'll put in a case or on a counter and never use?
While some people probably use theirs, it is more of a display piece. What we call a shelf queen. I probably wouldn't carry it and use it on a regular basis, I'll try to keep it in good shape. However, it would work fine for a variety of tasks where additional illumination is required. :) The nice thing is you can set if for a very low output if your eyes are already adjusted to the dark and you want to make your way around a campsite, bedroom, house, etc, without disturbing people, or hurting your eyes with an intense amount of light. Or it can be adjusted to be very bright when needed.
So is this flashlight gonna help protect you from rapists at night?
Who'd wanna rape me? :P A flashlight isn't a very effective means of self defense. If you have a gun you might be able to temporarily disorient someone with a bright enough flashlight allowing you to shoot them before they shoot you.
