Haha, that looks really cool. Here aren't of thoses.
I WISH don't live here, I don't like Spain but *sigh* ... nevermind lol.
Btw, I noticied about the header, nice one haha 'OH SNAP!'

Why did you make this?
I don't like it one bit.
PS: Wade your kwl ass!! :D

Looks like your Blog has revealed anoth flashaholic on NG....

I remember seeing a smooth, polished, stainless steel Jeat-beam light shown on CPF. Completely impractical, with plenty of shine...... reflecting off the barrel! LOL !

Crap! Sorry for the typos.

I guess I should get LED'S now... Since I know the difference, THANKS WADE!!! <3

True. LED lights are brighter and consume less energy than a Maglite. I went through three of them Maglites, so I think I might get one of those LED's...

Of course, Maglites are better if you're beating up somebody breaking in to your house :).

Yup, but now you can get Maglites with LED's in them right from Maglite, or you can buy a standard Maglite and put in aftermarket LED's that are even brighter than Maglite's LED models. Also a bulb could burn out if you smash the light over someone's head, where a LED should be fine.

when i lived at home, we wouldn't buy a flashlight unless it was LED. you get so much brighter light, and the batteries last so much longer, you'd be a fool to make a different purchase! my dad owned a bunch of woods behind his house, so often at night we would wander around in the dark woods, and the LED lights would do such a better job than the old flashlights we used to have, which just ate up batteries like pac man ate up fruit... and whatever those little orbs were. We even got a headband with a spinable dial thing, that has 5 LED lights in it, so you can change the color of it, and the number of lights / brightness it has. it was pretty damn cool :D

Yeah, for the average person LED's work great. There are still times when incan. flashlights are better, but these are in high powered lights that LED's can't touch yet as far as brightness, unless they use multiple high power LED's.

So for SWAT guys, Military, that need a super bright light to clear a room, or whatever, incans still rule for the most part.

RE: Jetbeam too bright

Well Jetbeam did think of that, these models allow you to click though different cycles of light, one of them being 5% of its output, so its not a bright light = ] It accomplishes it by a quick 'flashing' interval. They do a great job with them because you eye wont notice it but the camera picks it up.

Along with different brightness settings they have stuff like noticeable flashing like morse s.o.s. code ^_^

Cool, wasn't sure what features it had. My Fenix LED's do the same thing, allowing you step through various brightnesses, strobe, SOS, etc.

RE : Maglite LED drop-ins from Maglite.

Just head to Home Depot. They seem to have the best selection from a Brick & Mortar store, for MagLEDs.

Yeah, Walmart and Lowes often have them too. There are brighter drop-ins available by Teralux. I have a custom one by Gene Malkoff that is awesome.

LIGHT BULBS!!! EXCITING!!!

It's exciting if you are looking for ways to reduce global energy consumption.

Nice! I have a flashlight powered by LED's!

You've probably noticed already, but one of the great uses that they've made their way into is traffic lights. They are brighter, more visible, and most importantly, when one goes out, you still have the rest of the light illuminated, as opposed to a standard light.

I've also seen LED lights over produce and cooler displays in high-end grocery stores rather than fluorescent lighting, as the LED's burn much cooler, which saves on refrigeration costs.

I have one of those "hand crank flashlights" that doesn't use batteries and is pretty awesome. 1 minute of hand charging = 1 hour of light. Also, the flashlight have an integrated radio and an emergency alarm. I recommend it, it cost just 20$ at Walmart. ^_^

Someone should grab a bunch of LEDs, turn it into a huge flashlight, and shine it at moving trafeck... on the highway!

That would be a good way to get idiot politicians to try and ban high powered flash lights and not let common folk poses them.

What exactly does LED stand for?

Ronald-McDonald LED stands for Light Emitting Diode
Anyways, I love LEDs. I used them in school last year when we were messing around with PBasic and Logic Circuits. I was often annoyed by the fact that you always had to know which side was positive or negative (I think the negative side is longer). The problem is that most houses are made for incandescent lightbulbs, so it would be cost a lot of money to replace every house with LEDs and they are putting them in cars nowadays.

If they can some day build a LED light bulb that puts out light similar to a light bulb, compact flourescent, etc, they shouldn't be that expensive once mass produced. The problem right now is people probably wouldn't like the quality of light given off by a LED bulb. However, a LED light bulb should be cheaper to mass produce that compact flourescents, and maybe even light bulbs.

Oh wow, those are so cool they make me feel like I actully need a flashlight.

:D

It's funny, when you have a small, yet very powerful, flashlight on you, you'd be urprised how much you use it.

I have an older LED flashlight, but it does manage to really pour out the light, despite not being the latest in LED-ness. I recall being absolutely shocked when I turned it on and it damn-near completely lit up the room.

I work regularly in the Hardware department at Wal-Mart, and there's always at least one customer a day looking for LEDs to replace most, if not all, of his lighting needs. Seems we only have two brands for outdoors though, and that's it.
Guess it'll take a little more time.

Supposedly Walmart is suposed to get a 3C battery light by Rayovac that will advertise 150 lumens thanks to use of a CREE LED. If you see one of these, you might want to purhase one for yourself. :) Also if you see them show up at your Walmart, let me know.

Yeah, LED are really revolutionating the whole lighting industry. Maybe soon enough we can have moving-lights that don't cost over 10'000 usd a piece for the entertainement industry... but i guess it's not only the light itself that cost that much...

i got a new LED flashlight from lowes cause the one i use to check the inside of my cpu and to add new hardware to it broke and let me tell u i love the new LED flashlights
