Snowtober!

Posted by WadeFulp - October 31st, 2011

Anyone hit by the major snow storm? Many people are still without power and can't even get online to share their experience. Here's a video I shot as I was trying to get home on Saturday around 12PM. The storm started snowing sooner than expected.

I hope you have your Winter Tires On! >:| Be Safe :P
~Kaila~

I have all season tires on and they are fairly new. :) However the roads were mainly just slushy and wet, they were too warm for ice to bond to them.

I got hit a couple days ago, its all being melted now though so not too bad.

i heard that was a major ass storm from what i hear.

It was! I damaged many trees as they still had their leaves.

I love how this has the same music loop as the other snow video you shot.

Yeah, I'm lazy and just ran it through iMovie on my iPhone and picked the same music track. :)

Trick-or-Treat!

Also, snow also hit us here in New Jersey. But it was only an inch of snow and it melted very quickly. :(

Hopefully I get to see some snow before I move in California... in a month!

I haven't had power since Saturday night. My whole house (2 fridges, 2 computers, 3 TVs, a few lights and appliances) is being lit up by a generator.

Also, over 70% of the town lost power. We pushed Halloween to Friday and I didn't have school yesterday. Now, we might not even have school till Monday since National Grid is being somewhat lazy about fixing everything.

I got snow but only an inch or two but my grandma got 3 to 5 inches of snow.

Is NG dying?

Probably just more people online search more for other things.

Understood. I'm sticking with NG, but I was concerned that it's been losing momentum based on a thread that liljim has since put at ease.

Is the redesign launch near, far, or shrouded in secrecy?

Wow, I live in Quebec, CANADA, and we STILL didn't hit a snow storm!

Then again, I'm starting to dislike snow, so I don't really care.

No snow in Eastern Washington yet. we had the longest snowing season of all time last year though...

A good set of snow tires is always much better than just "all weather" tires. Normally I am all about not buying a whole set of tires just for a few months like you get down there but then again it saves you from having to get new tires because you'll be using each set for only part of the year - so they'll last twice as long.

Studded winter tires are probably the best thing on earth where I used to live. I had an apartment that had a dirt parking lot and driveway and it was up a hill on a street that was an afterthought for the town to plow. We tried a winter with just normal all weather tires and it was not fun at all! The next winter, with studded winter tires it was smooth sailing, especially during January thaw and Spring mud season when the parking lot would be a foot of mud that froze over night and turned to slushy thick mud.

Where I live the snow doesn't stay on the roads long as our road crews do a pretty good job cleaning it up. I'm not going to buy a set of snow tires for the few times I actually have to drive on snow packed roads. I've never had a major problem getting around even in the snow and ice with my regular tires. If I lived somewhere where the roads were often covered in snow for extended periods of time then I might think about it.

Yeah, there was like a foot or so of snow where I was, 10 inches at least... At least that's what my mom thinks, I suck at guessing measurements and didn't care enough to dig out the ruler. The power here was restored before the storm was even over, thank God. Even better, I can say that this is the one time in my life I ever got to have a Halloween snowman. White Christmas? How mainstream... I prefer white Halloween!

I was up in PA when the Storm hit, dillsburg PA to be exact. There were so many accidents the day of the snow storm just down US 15 south a lone, even a tree fell down on the highway. I think Dillsburg got 6 inches. Down where I live in Frederick Maryland we only got about a half a inch at most. Snows is gone in most areas down here. People still without power? Also, interesting fact I used to deliver the Washington Post newspaper and they never stop that Newspaper from being delivered. 365 days a year and no days off. I was worked for them back when we have those huge blizzards and I have to drive in that shit. Lets just say not fun at all.

On a side note, my brother been hounding me about moving up to PA. Nice state and all.

I feel ya Wade!

We once had our own "Snowtober" in Michigan, back in 1997!

It actually wasn't that bad down here (York County/Lebanon). I mean, yeah there were accidents and shit, but we were doin' purty good, if'n you're askin' me.

Traffic was an asshole.

We got no snow here yet. Fuck.

I hardly got any snow that day. I hope my state gets snow for the holidays, I love white Christmas's

It's the middle of November and its been like 60-70 degrees since mid-October
