If the iPod was Back to the Future (Time traveling Delorean awesomeness), and the iPhone was Back to the Future II (Time traveling Delorean awesomeness THAT CAN FLY, with kickass hoverboards from the future), I think the iPad will be like Back to the Future III (The bullshit wild west, broken Delorean, and a fucking train.)

Just watch. Sequels in three's rarely do so hot.

It's just way too expensive. The apps are cool and it's a slick device, but I think it's skip-able.

Well guys, think of it this way. It could be like a Wacom Tablet. It'll be a whole hell of a lot better for aspiring computer artists. I would buy it if I had the cash, but unfortunatelly, I don't.

Sweet. With the new iPad, I can have the worst of both worlds. It has less interactive usability than my smartphone, but it's too big to put in my pocket like a laptop.

But seriously. It doesn't support Flash (but it's a breakthrough web experience, they say!), multitasking, and is probably the only portable device of that size I've ever seen within the past five years that doesn't have a camera. It runs some stupid variant of the iPhone OS too ,

With that said, I can imagine some really cool and useful applications for this, but I think it's truly a niche product. There seems to be some general consensus that people running around in the medical field would love this. Whatever.
