And besides, how did GW do with anything with Hurricane Katrina?
Katrina wasn't even that strong compared to other Hurricanes that have hit the USA in the past. It just happened it took a path that resulted in a disaster. It was only Cat 3 at landfall.
There was a hurricane that hit Miami, FL in the early 1900's, and if it hit today, it would result in around 157 billion dollars of damage. Katrina's damage was like 87 billion.
Things people need to keep in mind with Hurricanes when people blame them on global warming:
1. More tropical systems (tropical storms, hurricanes) are named these days than they were in the past. So there really aren't more storms than there used to be.
2. Before we had satellites and other reporting equipment we had no idea how many storms were moving around over the oceans.
3. Hurricane damage will get more costly as more people move to the coasts. In the past, the coasts that were hit by major hurricanes weren't as populated or developed as they are now, so obviously the price tag on the damage will get higher every year as there is more developement along the coasts that get hit.
I remember when I was on a trip to Cuernevaca, Mexico with my family years and years ago a hailstorm that was totally out of place for the dry season they were in. The reason cited for its occurance was a sunspot or some other solar event (I don't remember specifically... I was in elementary school at the time).
The sun can certainly do some fucked up shit to our weather. But global temperature here should ultimately remain pretty stable provided our world stays hot at the core, is heated by the sun, and has such a HUGE amount of water on its surface.
Personally, I don't agree with most people who entirely dismiss the theory of man's effect on global warming, because I feel like it's mostly an excuse to ignore a lot of environmental concerns. It all ultimately will boil down to over-population. Humans are far too successful to continue to thrive in this way unless we diversify our environments to include extra-terrestrial locations. All our eggs are in this one basket, and if we're to outlive our world we need to escape its confines.
Not that any of that matters to me personally, I guess. It's just important because I've got this instinct in me that wants my particular branch of the family tree to outlive everyone else's. Yay survivalism.
I wish I could live forever so I could see how all this turns out. :)
but the sun is suppose to cool down, because of its small mass, one day it will just die out. And implode i think.
Personally, I don't care if some guy says that it is because of the Sun, I mean seriosly, just look at the page. The page also have multiple lies in which I checked, that were used to support the argument. Wade, i'd expect you to not belive in something just because some internet dumbass thinks so, but it's not like I expected much from newgrounds either.
So then why don't you point out the lies?
I have a question "if i user posts a good response to a topic entitled "favorite color____" should he be banned? I was banned for post in a topic called favorite color dildo
"whats your favorite color dildo"
I responded. I don't use dildos so i have no favorite color. here comes the gay flames
Would this be a spam topic even though he is asking a debatable question?
Well a bit. But it does make us feel better to deny it entirely. And youre right in saying that we shouldnt let it entirely affect and ruin our economy especially in the third world which takes the brunt of the force. Like all the politicians have decided to provide them with solar panels which is a lot more expensive than they can really afford and dont even use them themselves!
Hypocrates.
We can't save the world, if we have a way of saving it, if we're all broke. If we're all broke, no one is going to conserve, they will be trying to survive, even if it means burning tires for heat, dumping toxic crap into streams, etc.
Wait your saying that a large ball of superheated plasma going through a constant phase of nuclear fusion has an effect on the temperture of the earth. whats happoned to your mind. lol
seriously though I did hear about this about a year ago but most documentries still point to man made climate change. this theory has not gotten around as much as the ones blaming cars for global warming.
I don't believe in Global Warming at all. So, we humans make the weather warmer by doing our shit, but all those chemicals and crap that make the weather warm just float out into space and don't change anything.
Plus, I'd hate to see the people in the future blaming us for the hot weather and for being so uncharitable towards them...
I think theres more than just one reason I think that it's caused by all of the ideas
that people think of sun getting hotter, cars, ocean shooting out methane, ect.
Truth was here
Every year the sun loses 360 million tons.
well, i no longer feel bad about ruining the enviroment.
Explain why you deleted me, please.
u need to shave that beard wade

You have so few favorites. I guess you have very refined and specific tastes!
You own3d those camels
why did it take them that long to work that out?
Its obvious that its our fault,I mean, why else would the Earth be heating up?
Oh,and is there any way I could talk to you about a username change?
Squeky
Never believed in GW anyways, how did people think the ice age ended, by cavemen farting carbon deoxide and methane?!?!
P.S. Did you know that Alaska used to be tropical? Saw it on either "The Science Channel" or "The Discovery Channel".
