I'm from NYC (Astoria, Queens) and NY1 doesn't say anything about a potential Category 1 hurricane hitting us this weekend. I would expect it to be no more than a tropical storm by the time it reaches us, which we've dealt with in the past.
People were making a big deal about Hanna earlier this month and it turned out to be nothing. Just lots of rain outside and that's it.
did this already happen? lol

been there, i think it was 1996 when NYC got hit with the "tail" of one, the subways were flooded, people here pissy, my HS didnt stop class though... and it rained for like 3 days straight... it was a pain, but FL had gotten it worse
