I find it even more ironic how the Myanmar government asked the UN for help, but yet they are resistant to help.

From what I have been reading on Wikipedia, their people are frustrated with the lack of a warning system about the cyclone, and they are blaming their junta government for the cyclone and the mass flooding. There are no measures to deal with the corpses that are appearing on the streets, as they are just being abandoned, which is bringing up the issue of the spread of diseases.

This isn't much of a suprise for me, since I have been reading up on Burma's human rights violations, and evidence that is suggesting that a genocide is occuring on the Karen minority. This has me convinced that their government is probably not willing to help their people.

OMG ! That's horrible, i hope the ONU do something about it...

When I heard this disaster on the news I was just amazed and shocked to see that the government of Myanmar wouldn't let the U.S. help aid them and even the government isn't even helping their own people out. I am so glad I live in the US where the government isn't a bitch. Hopefully the Myanmar gov will let the US aid the people of Myanmar.

I thought you were planning to dirrect us to donate to a relief fund.

Wo, sounds very suspicious on their governments part. Maybe their hiding something?

I read the news, first they said hundreds died, then thousands, then tens of thousands, then hunreds of thousands, now they say it may be near a million. That's a lot of peopl . . .

Im studying this in my Geography class
Apparently the military authorities were barring aid and relief at one stage
Idiots.

The other day I was thinking "I remember that tsunami several years back that killed tons of people, I wonder if something like that will happen again, its been long enough"

Be careful what you wish for!

:(

the country doesnt even want help o.O

It's just going to be another way to blame global warming to get money. We're already being told that we're all going to die within 10 years and thats got most of us guzzling out money, hopefully people will realize that this is propaganda. People in my social class usually say that the people in Russia were stupid for falling for Stalin's lies, but they obviously can't look at themselves.
Hey it'd really like if you could youtube/google the Bothchild's family and give me your prespective on the matter because it really seems to make sense.

Damn..that really sucks.
I hope things work out well over there.
Nature just isn't very nice, sometimes. That's when I feel like burning trees.
And then I realize that wouldn't help anything.

Wtf? SIX DAYS!?
That is a HELL of a long time. What the hell is wrong with their government? Do they want their people do die?
Overthrowing it does sound like a nice idea. Of course, not now..that would make matters much worse.

Well, I happen to live in Florida and know a thing or two about hurricaines. Let me just say it sucks, and that their government needs to suck it up and let foreign help in. I mean, without any of the aid we get down here from the state and country after hurricaines, we'd be screwed every other year. And as far as the global warming increasing hurricaines: those major hurricaines were back in 2005, and we've had two relatively mild seasons since, so there's so many holes in that story that it looks like swiss cheese.

pizza and cookie dough for all!

The situation has gotten worse. Because the Burman government is seizing relief materiel, the UN is starting to back off.

I think the Military government of Myanmar wants to make it appear as though they're not dependant on other countries, which is why they won't accept any help. That's not uncommon for countries under dictatorship rule.

It's just a damn delusion. Even stronger, more stable countries need help during crises like these. The fact the Burmese government doesn't want to compromise the illusion of its total independence of the world is a clear sign that they don't give a shit about their people.

Hahahahahahahahahaha

cool pic man

lmao

I know, it's terrible. Just terrible. hey Wade man, I got an amazing suggestion which EVERY NG USER would love if it was carried through, if I send you a PM will you pay attention to it?
