iphone 3.0

Posted by WadeFulp - June 18th, 2009

I updated my iPhone 3G to OS 3.0 yesterday. I enjoy some of the new features. However, I am annoyed that the "back up" still takes FOREVER to run when I sync my iPhone. I decided to sync it today after it went through a full back up and OS upgrade just yesterday. It's taking forever!

Any other iPhone users out there that have experience slow back ups? Or tried syncing since installing 3.0?

Anyone planning on getting the 3Gs? I'd love to get the 3Gs with the better camera, autofocus, video, etc, but it isn't in my budget. It seems like I'd have to pay a $200 fee to upgrade before my 12 or 18 months is up. I'll probably head into an AT&T store once the madness calms down to see when I'm qualified to upgrade with no extra fee.

It's going to be tough watching so many people enjoying their 3Gs, sending videos, taking better quality pics, etc, while I'm stuck with the 3G phone. :P

If I have to wait 18 months to get the best upgrade price ($199 for the 16GB 3Gs) I may just wait for next year's iPhone.

I Have One Like That

I think there should be a Wade Exception for the exclusion of photography in the Art Portal, so that you could spam it with gigantic high-res images of various insects and knives.

And LED flashlights, Slash, don't forget the LED flashlights.

I've got big hopes for Android based phones. I'm saving up for the T-mobile phone that uses the android OS. Its hard to beat something i can write my own apps for FOR FREE. :D

I'm getting the 32GB 3Gs today hopefully, as an early birthday present. I wanted to get an iPhone for a while now but the 16GB one was just too small for my music collection. Now I'll be able to have all my music and a phone in one slim device. My old ipod and my old phone had a combined weight of about 255g, whereas the iPhone is about 135g. Gonna be so good not being weighed down by multiple devices! =)

You can twit my twat any day ;D

I wanna get the software update, but Apple's charging $9.99 for the iPod Touch 3.0..

I'm interested in the peer-to-peer stuff on the touch...

I got it...screwed my phone right up...gotta send it in for repair...might just get the 32gb S though.

Oldsage, peer to peer only works in Wi-fi zones. It uses the Bluetooth port on the iPhonefor it.

Man, I haven't even thought of getting an iPhone once. I kinda feel behind on things but I'm happy with what I have right now (i.e. A mobile phone that does the basic things and a 120GB iPod Classic).

You should've seen the betas >_>

You mean it's STILL taking forever, or it TOOK forever?

Never did understand why people always seem to want the 'latest' phone; my phone is 6 years old, cost about £35 when I got it (it's probably worth about £5 now), and I'm fine with it because, would you believe it, it still works as a phone!

Technological gimmicks like iPhones aren't really built to last, so even if you get the latest one, you'll only end up having to get the 'latest' one again in a year's time, and again a year after that, and so on (each time costing no small amount).

And what's this I hear about everyone's favourite moron leaving death-threats on your blog earlier?

I'm happy with my old cellphone, which I got Christmas of 2003. Monochrome, bare necessities. Low cost, low maintenance, doesn't break if it falls off my desk. <3

I had the same problem but then I found out it was the new version of the tranfer plug that was badly made by apple so I took the plug from my first ipod nano 1G and it works perfectly.

I feel like a fool paying 9.95 for the 3.0 OS. Oh well..

get one with a built in flashlight

Pft, at least you Can buy an iphone. AT&T doesnt even cover my area.

Nice, i'm following newgrounds on twitter now :D

tweet tweet!

I hopped on 5 months into 1.0 and haven't upgraded from the 1.6 since then. I really oughtta update my software pretty soon. The problem is that I used 'ziphone' to unlock my phone before the App store hit so I could get unauthorized apps, and I want to do it again because I like having the guitar tuner, level, and a host of other things that I don't want to have to pay for in the app store; but I don't know that there's a jailbreak for 3.0 yet.

Odds are, I'm just going to continue using mine as is, I've had it for 1.2 years now, so it's looking like I'll just wait for next year's iPhone as well and buy a new one.
