Dark Knight and Vacation

Posted by WadeFulp - July 27th, 2008

For those who didn't know I was away on vacation this past week in Chincoteague, VA. We went to the beach, we saw wild ponies, I got to meet Misty the famous Chincoteague pony that was featured in a popular children's book, Misty. To bad Misty died like 3 or 4 decades ago, but they stuffed her, and her daughter Stormy, whom I met too, the dead stuffed version...

Click here for pics from my trip.

Before I left for vacation, actually the night before, I went and saw The Dark Knight with one of my friends. I'm glad I did. It was awesome and I really want to go see it again. When Heath Ledger died I was kinda shocked and surprised, but I didn't really care that much. However, when I saw his performance in The Dark Knight I realized what a great actor we lost.

So who here has seen The Dark Knight? What did you think? It's breaking all kinds of records. Right now it has its sights set on Titanic's record for total gross of over $600 million. It is already over $300 million and is seeing a lot of repeat business, and a lot of people are telling everyone to see it. I can see why, and I'm also telling people to go see it.

If you're not aware, this is a great movie. This is something you really should go and see as movies like this don't come along very often. The Joker steals the show and you just keep wanting more Joker as you watch the film. When I heard Heath Ledger should be nominated for an Oscar I was like "Yeah, give the dead actor an Oscar as a silly tribute..." but when I saw the film I realized he deserves at least the nomination dead or alive, and I wouldn't be surprised if he won it. He is probably one of the biggest reasons this movie is such a force, so why shouldn't he win the Oscar? His performance has resulted in this movie shattering records and people raving about him. If that isn't Oscar worthy I don't know what is.

Anyway, if you haven't seen the movie, go see it. If you have already seen it, go see it again. Fuck Titanic! The Titanic needs to be sunk a second time, but not by another ice berg in the night, but by The Joker in The Dark Knight.

I want to see the Dark Knight so bad. :D
Your vacation looked cool. And you got to the see the Dark Knight before it. Must have been awesome. :)

i saw it just the other day, i loved it! it kicked so much ass.

Yeah it did.

It was about the same as the 1989 one

I agree. Awesome flick, awesome joker, and stuffed ponies. My god, only a throng of women and videogames could add to the fun. Good times

Joker will show the Titanic a magic trick for sure in the record books.

Relax Wade, why so serious!?

Who said I was serious? :)

Ledger was just fantastic in that movie....it was amazing, Dark Knight ftw!!!!

I saw Dark Knight today. I, too, found myself anticipating The Joker's next appearance. I hope it becomes the highest selling movie of all-time. It's gotta be the best Batman movie since the 1st or 2nd one.

I really loved the movie. My favorite moments in the movie were the pencil magic trick and the ballroom scene.

The only thing I didn't like was the new back-story they gave the Joker, it kind of freaked me out.

I think me and my friends saw it the day it came out (or at least that weekend). I say think because when we went (around 6ish) the theater was not packed. However, when we got out (8 or 9 something?) there was a line about to wrap around the building.

I really want to see it again, and can't wait to buy it on DVD!

i really liked the dark night, and i thought it would suck.

This is how all superhero movies should be. Intricate character development with a meaningful plot development. I haven't seen many other superhero movies, Iron Man, The Hulk, the only Spiderman film I've seen is the first and the last superhero film I remember seeing was Transformers, but they all seem to be the same old action action action, blow shit up, struggle good vs evil good always wins but wait, plot twist! The enemy is himself! Old. Dark Knight had a real head-messing villian, and I loved it. A bit disturbing, but the way the film is executed is brilliant, Ledger did a fantastic job, the "Why so serious?" routine he had really took his character to the next level, you usually don't see this much of the villian.

after people watch dark night, they should also go watch a knight's tale (another ledger movie). He really was a good actor.

HEY WHOA...TITANIC WAS A GREAT MOVIE IF YOU WATCH BOTH THE ACTION HALF AND THE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT HALF

Titanic was a great movie :3

I liked Titanic, but I like the Dark Knight a lot more. :)

Ledger was awesome as the Joker when I watched it the other day! God bless 'im!
It was indeed awesome, so I canny wait for another!

Can't wait til Wednesday, as me and my most of my family are going to watch it! I'm really excited about this :D

lol i was on vacation last week, i got back last night, and I saw dark knight twice while gone. Once in theaters, then in IMAX, which wade, if you can get a good seat and not be surrounded by assholes, is fucking beautiful, but i was stuck in the front row surrounded by assholes, but the sound was breathtaking.

Go see it in IMAX if theres one near you.

How about a magic trick, I'll make this pencil disappear.

You show that crab who's boss.

I Agree with Johnny Titanic was a great movie but I will probloy see the Dark Night.

The Dark Knight was amazing and the humor in it was brilliantly evil, but funny. I have one question about your pictures, what kind of bug was that red with black strips.

That was a velvet ant aka cow killer, which is actually a wasp. It was the female wasp as they do not have wings. I thought it was a big nasty ant, it was bit, like an inch long. It was running around constantly so I couldn't get a good picture. I wasn't about to touch it as it looked evil, and later I found out it was evil. It won't kill you, but they say the sting is so painful it feels like it could kill a cow and you wish you were dead. hehe.
