Ask requested, by a some, my squirrel video. I had the camera like 2 feet away from this guy. I was surprised how tame it was, but maybe it was rabid or something. At one point when it kinda stood up and looked at me I was thinking, this thing could leap on me and start attacking, but it didn't.

Did you get really close to the squirrel or did you just zoom in a lot with the camera? If you were close to it, why didn't it get scared? I found it funny when it looked at the camera.
I was like 2 feet away, or less. That's why I filimed it, because it was odd that it wasn't scared. I was using my little Sony digital camera, it doesn't have a strong zoom.

another exciting day in the life of Wade Fulp.
a relative of mine had a tame squirrel. It lived out in the yard and frolicked about with other squirrels, but if he went outside and called it it'd run over and climb onto his shoulder. Very neat.

You need to get your own show on Animal Planet and I'm pretty amazed on how close you got to a squirrel.
My friend that lives about a mile away used to have a couple of squirrels that used to come off of the golf course next to his house and they were very VERY tame.
When he left his door open they would come into his house and go to a corner where he kept a small pile of peanuts just for them. They would also take them from your hand and eat them at your feet. lol

Where I live, being about 8 or 9 feet away from a squirrel will scare it away.
It's the same here. Most squirells run if you get 10-20 feet from them, or farther.
You're right, the squirrel was trying with all his might not to attack you. I can tell that squirrel wanted your blood.
I don't think finding a squirrel this tame is that rare of an occurrence. When I was in Washington D.C I actually had a chance to pet a little Grey squirrel on his head with my finger, and along with him came many other squirrels giving the humans friendly almost domesticated attention. They really are cute, but it's probably due to the fact they're so used to humans they just don't give a shit anymore.
Love your videos Wade, do you have many nature snaps? Basic scenery without any people? I have tons, I want to go to the Black Sand beach in Costa Rica some day, it's one of the most unique places I've discovered, you should check it out.
I wouldn't touch a wild squirrel, they can carry lice and other nasties.
