Was taking the trash out tonight when I noticed a couple of young skunks in the backyard. Crappy video because it was with my little digital camera and a flashlight:

I would have been scared. And what's with the wood all over the grass. And I was a little surprised that the skunks weren't scared of you or anything.
I had a bright flashlight in their face (doesn't look that bright because the digital camera's video mode isn't very light sensative), and skunks usually aren't a problem if they don't feel threatend and aren't cornered.
It was actually in my neighbor's yard, and that was scrap wood from a reject project.
I remember the smell of skunks on the interstate when I'm driving down south

When the one came up closer probably about 3 feet away. I had a bright flashlight on them so they couldn't see me.
I wanna get one with the stink glands removed I bet they would make great pets. ^_^

Yup. I was bummed, I was at my folk's tonight and there were little baby toads all over their yard. Would have made for some fun pictures, but I forgot my camera.

Cool video, although I don't think I would want to get that close to them. I've actually seen someone get sprayed by a skunk once. Not a pleasant experience.

To bad my little digital camera only has a 3X zoom so it didn't do much good. I just had to get really close. If they were in my yard I probably would have gotten closer, haha. I was as close as I could get, about 3 feet, because there was a fence between us and I was hanging over the fence.
Skunks actually make great pets if their stink glands are removed (unsure of what they're called)
They're fuckin' cool; except the whole "holy fuckin' hell it smells!" part.
You were lucky you found them, do you live near their natural place or why do you think they where doing there and they are in your trash?
There are skunks all over the place around here. Seeing one is not uncommon. You're not lucky to see one, your lucky not to see one. :)
We also have possums, racoons, etc. We even had a young black bear roaming around our town last month.
Aw<a href="http://www.....they">www.....they</a> seem friendly. I'm surprised you were able to get that close and not get sprayed. Hawaii doesn't have such dangerous or intense wild life...but we do have are allot of turtles, dolphins, whales (around March), Monk Seals, Sharks, Fish, and Birds.
You should come to Hawaii some time and check out the Whales and Dolphins. I'm sure you'll love all of our Marine life at the local aquarium.
If it wasn't for their incredible stinking oder...they would probably make good pets.
That black and white pattern is nice...but it's quite obvious to let predators know to stay away.
I'm sure the skunk has few enemies.

They were digging around the yard looking for food. They dig up grubs and stuff.
